A signature dish is undoubtedly the battered cod, which has earned a reputation for being light, crispy, and free from excess oil. Many appreciate the fluffy chips that accompany the fish, making it a fulfilling meal that stands out among local competitors.
The friendly service also garners heaps of praise; staff members serve with smiles that brighten even dull days. Regulars enjoy the warm atmosphere that has remained consistent throughout the years. Many share stories of enjoying the Friday fish and chips ritual, often recommending it as an essential experience for newcomers to the area.
While the food garners almost universal praise, some potential customers complain about the cash-only policy, which can be inconvenient for those used to card payments. Although the street parking is free, finding a space during peak times can become challenging and might require some extra time to secure a spot.
The wait times during busy periods, especially on Fridays, can deter some diners. However, loyal customers remind newcomers that the fresh cooking does justify the wait, making it a topic of discussion rather than a major complaint.
The best fish and chips ever! Smooth and crispy fish with large portions of deliciously fluffy and crisp chips. Everything perfectly cooked No grease! And delightful, friendly service with a smile. I just love going there for the warm welcoming service. On a wet and rainy evening everyone is put in a good mood from the service and the food. I now go EVERY Friday a d don't mind the queue. Excellent Hidden gem local Batter nice Portion gigantic Service came with a smile at 28 degrees MUST TRY AAA+++
There are many fish & chip shops locally, but in my opinion this is one of the best for value for money & quality of food. They always take their time to get the order ready as it’s always cooked fresh, I prefer their cod & chips but I’ve also had the haddock, both are nice. Great food, large portions & friendly staff.. enough said!
Top quality fish and chips. Massive portions. Good fish and chip shops are hard to find in London in my experience but Michael's is the exception. Worth travelling for.

Best fish and chips in Waltham Forest. Huge portions and always fresh as queue goes out on to the street. They use separate oil for fish and chips so halal too.
